Jack Hawksworth Joins AIM VASSER SULLIVAN

Brings Critical Experience with Lexus RC F GT3 to AVS

Plano, Texas (October 29, 2018) -. AIM VASSER SULLIVAN (AVS), the newly formed motorsports entity that includes AIM Autosport, a championship-winning organization and IndyCar winning team owners Jimmy Vasser and James “Sulli” Sullivan is thrilled to announce Jack Hawksworth as the team’s first driver. Hawksworth will be racing full-time in 2019 in one of the two Lexus RC F GT3 race cars that AVS will campaign in the GT Daytona (GTD) class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

“I am delighted and excited to be joining the AIM VASSER SULLIVAN racing team for the upcoming IMSA season,” said Hawksworth. “I have spent the last two seasons driving the Lexus RC F GT3 car and look forward to continuing the push forward in the quest to win the big races and a championship with the AVS team and Lexus. Our first point of call will be the Rolex 24 at Daytona. I look forward to beginning preparations with the team over the coming weeks and months so that we can be ready for the challenge come January! Hawksworth drove the No. 15 Lexus RC F GT3 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s GTD class the past two seasons. During that time, Hawksworth registered a GTD series-best four pole positions in 2018 and seven of the quickest GTD race laps, including five of the fastest laps during the 2018 season.

“Having Jack join us is an important step in accelerating the learning curve for all of us at AVS,” said AIM VASSER SULLIVAN co-owner and lead engineer Ian Willis. “The Lexus RC F GT3 is a new platform for us and Jack has proven that he understands the car and knows what it takes to put us in the winner’s circle. This is fantastic for us and offers a terrific advantage and opportunity for Jack’s eventual co-drivers.”

AVS has been flattered by the number of inquiries from talented professional and amateur drivers since the team was announced and is in the process of assembling its 2019 driver lineup. AVS expects further driver announcements including those for the second car in the very near future.

AVS leadership has a combined 100+ years of experience in operations, engineering, marketing and racecraft.

AIM Autosport formed in 1995 and have been winners in every category of open wheel and sports car racing they have competed in. AIM has multiple race wins, plus overall team, driver and manufacturer Championships in both Grand AM and IMSA competition.

Vasser and Sullivan were allied and partners from 2011-2016 with KVSH Racing in the IndyCar Series. In 2017, Vasser and Sullivan established Vasser-Sullivan Racing to compete in the IndyCar series. In 2018, they formed a partnership with Dale Coyne to establish Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan to compete full time in the IndyCar Series Championship. In its first year, the team earned multiple podiums including winning the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, and finishing seventh in the 2018 championship standings.
