AIM Autosport welcomes Piloti as official supplier Woodbridge, Ontario (January 27, 2009) - AIM Autosport is pleased to announce the addition of Piloti as an official supplier to the team. The company will outfit the AIM Autosport Daytona Prototype crew with a selection of shoes for use both on and off the track. Piloti is also an official supplier to the Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series. AIM started using Piloti shoes for the crew last season and took the opportunity to gauge issues such as wear and tear and comfort. When the opportunity arose to form a closer relationship with the manufacturer, AIM's crew members knew what they were looking for in a shoe that address these issues and after some discussion, chose the 32 model from the Touring line. "We took our first delivery of the 32 at the January test and we gave them quite a workout," noted Jeff Pomfret, crew chief for the No. 61 Ford Riley. "Everyone on the crew seemed pretty happy with the quality and fit and most of the time you'll find us wearing them around the shop as well. With the Rolex 24 up next, being comfortable on our feet is important and we think that Piloti has provided us the right show for the job." Fuelers for the 61 car will be utilizing an approved, fire-resistant DuPont NOMEX® model from Piloti's Race Professional line while team management takes a casual approach with the leather Sebring model. "Everyone at AIM Autosport welcomes the support we are getting from Piloti," said team principal Ian Willis. "Their involvement with Grand Am and the Rolex Sports Car Series exposed us the product and we were encouraged enough to pursue this association. We are looking forward to Piloti's continued support throughout this season and into the future." Kevin A. Beard, Piloti founder and CEO commented, "Having AIM Autosport wearing our Piloti products for 2009 is a plus for us. Mark and Burt are proven winners and we are proud and honored to have them in our Piloti family organization". Piloti Facts: |
