Star Mazda practice at New Jersey
Goncalvez and Ostella on track today. Dempsey arrives Friday

Woodbridge, Ontario (2009.06.11) David Ostella and Jorge Goncalvez spent the day on New Jersey Motorsport Park's Thunderbolt Raceway getting some valuable track time in Formula Mazda for this weekend's double header. Both drivers are familiar with the circuit having raced there in the Formula BMW Americas series last season. David and Jorge completed three sessions today but will be looking forward to some additional guidance from team mate Peter Dempsey who sat on the pole and recorded a victory during Star Mazda's visit for a double header in 2008. The other race that weekend was won by AIM Autosport with John Edwards at the wheel.

"We are positioned for a strong run at New Jersey this year" commented team manager Keith Willis. "John ran the fastest lap at the circuit last year and we went on to win race one. Peter ran the second fastest lap and won the other race. Needless to say we are happy to have Peter in an AIM car this year and his experience will be a big benefit to both David and Jorge."

There are two 45-minute practice sessions on Friday (8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. ET) with qualifying for race one at 5:30 p.m. ET.
