Star Mazda: Iowa Speedway
David Ostella earns first career Star Mazda podium (P3)

(2009.07.10) AIM Autosport rookie David Ostella (71) had a fantastic day at Iowa Speedway earning his best start of the season (fifth) and turning it into a podium finish in the 100 lap race. David kept his head and managed his restarts to remain near the front of the field throughout the race. David was one of only four cars to complete the full 100 lap distance.

The day did not end as well for team mate Jorge Goncalvez. He suffered damage to his primary car in practice and had to start the backup car. Jorge started from fourteenth and got caught up in an multi-car accident on lap three. His day done, Jorge will now concentrate on preparations for the double header weekend at the Autobahn circuit in a few weeks.

Star Mazda: Iowa Speedway
Team looks for more oval success

(2009.07.10) With both Jorge and David running at the front at the Milwaukee Mile a few weeks back - Jorge taking the early lead, it is not surprising that the AIM Autosport Star Mazda squad is felling good about the series' second trip to an oval track this year. In fact, Jorge did very well at Iowa Speedway during tests earlier in the season. At Milwaukee, Jorge went on to finish fifth while a late race brush with the wall ended David's day after he had run as high a third.

The Iowa race is one-day affair as the Star Mazda Championship presented by Goodyear teams with the ARCA ReMax Series on the oval. The day starts with two practice sessions with qualifying at 3:00 p.m. The 100-lap race starts at 8:30 p.m. tonight.
