Mazda: Autobahn (Chicago)Sunday Report David Ostella would start today's race on the outside of row seven (13th) but quickly moved up and through some tight battles, gained positions to end the race in eighth place. It wasn't easy though and right after making the pass for eighth spot (at a place where the TV announcers said "Nobody passes there"), the seventh place car spun right in front of David. He had to brake hard and go to the grass to avoid an accident and this allowed the car he had just passed, to take back the position. However David would remain in eighth spot. Jorge Goncalvez started the race from the outside of row five (10th) but his woes continued and a cracked rear wing bent back causing severe handing problems for the No 71 car. He would finish the day in fifteenth but remains in the top ten in the series championship. David Ostella is still in twelfth spot in the championship but has widened the gap over the car behind and is now within striking distance of a top ten overall. AIM Autosport remains third overall in the team championship.
